Iverson was sexually assaulted and murdered by Jeremy Strohmeyer, then 18, in a women’s restroom at the casino arcade. Strohmeyer, who was visiting the casino with a friend, confessed to the crime after initially denying involvement. His accomplice, David Cash, admitted to witnessing the assault and failing to intervene or report it to authorities.
The murder sent shockwaves through the small community of Primm and across the nation. The focus quickly shifted to the safety of children in public spaces, particularly in casinos and entertainment venues.
